Portion, Not 10% | Institute of Love

The apostle Paul taught that “on the first day of each week, you should each put aside a portion of the money you have earned.” 1. Corinthians 16:2 NLT Paul did not instruct to give 10% of the money you have earned, but a PORTION! It means that “you must each decide in your heart how much to give.” 2. Corinthians 9:7 NLT For this reason, you should never allow yourself to give money in response to the pastor or minister pressuring you to tithe legalistically or sow an amount of seed with false promises of getting breakthroughs and becoming rich. (See 2. Corinthians 9:7) Instead, you happily give the portion you have decided with God in your heart, and He will bless you accordingly; “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” 2. Corinthians 9:8-9 NLT
