WHY MOST CHRISTIANS ARE NOT TRUE CHRISTIANS AT ALL

Jesus Christ said:

“The gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” Matthew 7:14 NLT

This means that,

“Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” 1. John 2:6 NLT

So just like Jesus, you need to be willing to give up your own selfish ways, and just like Jesus, take up your cross and be willing to give up your life for Him, loving Him above anybody or anything else! 

Jesus made this very clear when He said:

“If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for My sake, you will save it.” Matthew 16:24-25 NLT

And,

“If you love your father or mother more than you love Me, you are not worthy of being Mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than Me, you are not worthy of being Mine. If you refuse to take up your cross and follow Me, you are not worthy of being Mine!” Matthew 10:37-38 NLT

“Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword. I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. Your enemies will be right in your own household!” Matthew 10:34-36 NLT

This is the reason why the Christian walk is very narrow and difficult, and many of those so-called Christians are just phony fakes, who are not willing to sacrifice their selfish ways and live in obedience to God’s will!

These so-called Christians are only living to please themselves, and yet the Bible says:

“For even Christ didn’t live to please Himself.” Romans 15:3 NLT

GOD SAYS NO TO THE HOMOSEXUAL LIFESTYLE!

IN THE OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE BOOK, GOD SAID:

“Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.” Leviticus 18:22 NLT

“If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act.” Leviticus 20:13 NLT

IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, GOD SAYS:

“Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.” Romans 1:26-27 NLT

“Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves! Those who practice homosexuality will not inherit the Kingdom of God!” (See 1. Corinthians 6:9-10)

“The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality and who do contradict the wholesome teaching that comes from the glorious Good News!”

(See 1. Timothy 1:10-11)

It is for this reason the Scriptures say that:

“God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor—  not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and His ways.” 1. Thessalonians 4:3-5 NLT

IT IS GOD WHO KNOWS, DECIDES, ALLOWS, DISALLOWS, CONTROLS AND LEADS!

Did Job end up suffering because he brought it upon himself by doing wrong or sinning? Or was it God who allowed Job to suffer for His purpose?

The Bible gives the following answer:

Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”

Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”

“All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence. Job 1:8-12 NLT

Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil. And he has maintained his integrity, even though you urged me to harm him without cause.”

Satan replied to the Lord, “Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life. But reach out and take away his health, and he will surely curse you to your face!”

“All right, do with him as you please,” the Lord said to Satan. “But spare his life.”  So Satan left the Lord’s presence, and he struck Job with terrible boils from head to foot. Job 2:3-7 NLT

So, it is God who allows what will happen to people, whether good or bad!

That is why the Scripture says;

“So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it. For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.” So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen.” Romans 9:16-18 NLT

Therefore, it says that, “God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him!” Philippians 2:13 NLT

WILD PARTIES, ALCOHOL, DRUGS, SEX, ORGIES, AND THE SORROW THAT FOLLOWS!

“What sorrow awaits you who make your neighbors drunk! You force your cup on them so you can gloat over their shameful nakedness.” Habakkuk 2:15 NLT

“What sorrow for those who get up early in the morning looking for a drink of alcohol and spend long evenings drinking wine to make themselves flaming drunk.” Isaiah 5:11 NLT

“What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold.” Isaiah 5:22 NLT

“Come,” they say, “let’s get some wine and have a party. Let’s all get drunk. Then tomorrow we’ll do it again and have an even bigger party!” Isaiah 56:12 NLT

I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin or is a drunkard. Don’t even eat with such people! (See 1. Corinthians 5:11)

Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone who is living the lifestyle of a sexually immoral person or who is a drunkard, or who engages in orgies, abuses drugs, or any other sins like these will not inherit the Kingdom of God! (See Galatians 5:19-21)

So, don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living! (See Romans 13:13)

“Be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit!” Ephesians 5:15-18 NLT
