Domestic violence abuse against women is punishable by law in many countries. Therefore the governing authorities, who are God’s servants, are sent for this very purpose of punishing those who commit these crimes against women. (See Romans 13:1-5 NLT) For instance a man, whether he is a Christian or not, who physically abuses his wife will be arrested and put in jail and be prosecuted. Physical abuse is also grounds for divorce! The Bible says that “you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. You must remove the evil person from among you.” 1. Corinthians 5:11+13 NLT  Men should not think that they can get away with physically abusing their wives without consequences!
