The Task Of The Husband | Institute of Love

In a Christian marriage, the responsibility and task of the husband is to give up his life for his wife to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. (See Ephesians 5:25-26) That means that the husband is the one who needs to teach his wife from the Word of God, the Bible, so she will be blessed and prosper. It is for this reason, that apostle Paul taught that women should learn quietly and submissively, and that women in the church should not be allowed to teach men or have authority over them. (See 1. Timothy 2:11-12) Here is an example of how Titus, a leader in the church, was instructed by Paul to teach the older women in his church to live honorable lives, so they in turn could teach the younger women to live the godly way of life: “Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.” Titus 2:3-5 NLT
