Pearls For Pigs | Institute of Love

Jesus said; “Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.” Matthew 7:6 NLT In other words, you should not offer God's valuable Biblical doctrine to those who do not want it or appreciate it. We must learn to discern who we sacrifice our pearls of energy, time, and wisdom to. We need to find out whether the ones we want to help are truly humble, teachable, and willing to learn and change. Otherwise that person - (pig or also called swine) will end up draining and ruining us spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially. That is how many Christians get burned by their own desire to be "loving," "caring," and "nice." They keep giving themselves over and over again, and yet the person never changes. They don't understand that Satan often sets people in our path in order to destroy us, because he knows that we will sacrifice the things we should be doing, since we will be eager and willing to show our Christian love and minister to just about anyone who is weak and needy without discerning. We are called to serve and be sacrificial, but we are not to give pearls to the pigs. We need to let that person be, and let God deal with him or her alone. In fact, Jesus also said; “Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16 NLT
