Jesus Didn’t Sell The Gospel | Institute of Love

The Bible says to “imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ.” Ephesians 5:1-2 NLT Yes, as born-again Christians, we should follow the example of Jesus Christ (including His disciples), who did not go around dressed in designer suits and ties, looking like businessmen, selling God's Word and the Gospel through books, CD's, and DVD's, begging for money, charging non-refundable fees for conferences, teachings, and worship seminars, imposing the Old Testament law of Tithing on people, promising all sorts of financial and healing breakthroughs in exchange for the sowing of money seeds, and living lavishly. No, Jesus and His disciples were examples of those who practice what they preached; they trusted the Father to provide the means through miracles, in order for them give it away free of charge! They fully understood what their Master and Savior Jesus Christ taught them: “Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:8 NKJV That is why the apostle Paul could rightfully say: “And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.” 1. Corinthians 11:1 NLT
