The Tragic Fact About Demi Moore (February 9, 2012)

Actress Demi Moore was an icon in the 1980′s, known for movies such as St. Elmo’s Fire, Ghost, A Few Good Men, GI Jane, Disclosure, and countless others. She became the first female actress to secure a $12 million paycheck, a salary once only paid to male actors.
Demi Moore’s recent divorce from her younger husband and actor Ashton Kutcher, her battle with ageing and anorexia, and subsequent trip to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction, have been documented all over the media and in the tabloids. It is also known that Demi Moore grew up in a dysfunctional family where the parents were alcoholics, and her father committed suicide.
I believe the tragic fact about Demi Moore, who is 49 and has three young daughters, is her great fear of getting old. Demi Moore is the product of our youth-obsessed culture, which teaches women from when they are girls that they are valued by their beauty. They are taught to stay young and thin at any cost, and there is no other industry that consistently reinforces that message more than Hollywood. It is clear, that many are buying and believing this absurd message.
As we all know, the battle against Mother Nature is impossible to win. What we see is that Demi Moore, overwhelmed with insecurities of aging and a failed marriage, feels bad about herself and therefore resorted to drugs and alcohol, surrounded herself with young people, partying with her daughter, and hitting on teenage boys.
Demi Moore embodies the youth-obsessed Hollywood, who is telling women who are growing older, especially those working in movies, that they are worthless.
The time has come for Demi Moore to come home to God the Father, who loves her and who sent His Son Jesus Christ to save her from the evil one and give her a godly life that will flourish and produce fruit, even as she grows older!
But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the Lord's own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green. They will declare, "The Lord is just! He is my rock! There is no evil in him!" Psalm 92:12-15 NLT
