As we all know now, Mitt Romney unexpectedly lost the elections against Barack Obama, who was reelected president of the United States, but not without serious consequences for the president and this nation who elected him.
I believe this time, that God Himself will campaign against President Obama, who shows that he doesn’t have any regards for God’s Word and commandments by supporting the legalization of homosexual marriage, abortion, resisting and neglecting Israel, and praising the Muslim faith, just to name a few. It has now become personal between God and President Obama! God is in total control over this situation, and has a plan!
“He controls the course of world events; He removes kings and sets up other kings.” Daniel 2:21 NLT
Yes indeed, God removes kings and sets up other kings, even evil ones. God is in total control of world events, and has instructed us Christians - through His Word - how we are supposed to act toward those in government, whether they are good or evil.
“Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. The authorities are God's servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God's servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.” Romans 13:1-7 NLT
Finally, it is our duty to pray for President Obama to be saved and understand the truth!
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.” 1. Timothy 2:1-4 NLT
