Waiting For The Lord To Act | Institute of Love

“Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for Him to act.” Psalm 37:7 NLT Waiting in this context means seeking God for answers, studying the Word, and claiming His promises. Waiting for God to act is also a time to be in prayer about the issues, a time of praying for wisdom and discernment, and a time of meditating on who God is, what He wants to do in us and through us, and on what we need to do by way of answers and direction. This might also be the time that we need to examine and evaluate our motives and attitudes, our values and priorities, and our goals and objectives in life. Waiting is resting in God’s timing while taking care of our responsibilities—the things we can do and should do as set forth in the Word of God. This stands in opposite to running ahead of the Lord and taking matters into our own hands and turning to our own human strategies. No one can wait on the Lord if he or she does not truly trust in God. Waiting for the Lord to act is claiming His promises by faith, and trustfully resting in what He is doing in our lives! Because, “at just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up!” Galatians 6:9 NLT
