WHAT MANY CHRISTIANS DO NOT KNOW ABOUT HALLOWEEN

Halloween is a highly pagan holiday shrouded in witchcraft and attention to everything evil and dark. Traditionally though, it is said to have been a commemoration of saints that were martyred for their faith in God, hence the macabre costumes. Halloween today has evolved into a modern-day mix of the two.

Halloween originated from the Celtic festival of Samhain celebrated from October 31st to November 1st, marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. In ancient Celtic stories, Samhain was a magical time of transition when important battles were fought and fairies cast spells. Over time, Samhain evolved into the modern Halloween and has been observed by Celtic Neo-pagans and Wiccans.

In the United States, the origins of Halloween started with the early settlers. When early American settlers came from England, many of them brought various beliefs about ghosts and witches with them. In the 1800s, many immigrants from Ireland and Scotland arrived in the United States and introduced their Halloween traditions. Other groups added their own cultural influences to Halloween customs. German immigrants brought a vivid witchcraft lore, and Haitian and African people brought their native voodoo beliefs about black cats, fire, and witchcraft.

Knowing all this, Christians should never take part in Halloween, let alone allowing their children to celebrate this demonic holiday!

The Bible says,

“Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.” Ephesians 5:10-11 NLT

“Don’t participate in the things these people do. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” Ephesians 5:7-8 NLT

THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR BEING A JEZEBEL IN THE CHURCH

First of all, in order for you to have the evil spirit of Jezebel, you must be a woman! Why is this?

Jesus made this very clear while admonishing the church of Thyatira. He told them: 

“But I have this complaint against you. You are permitting that woman—that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet—to lead my servants astray.” Revelations 2:20 NLT

Here is Jesus specifically emphasizing the word “THAT”; you are permitting “THAT WOMAN” – that Jezebel, that is because Jesus was referring to the infamous wicked woman ‘Queen Jezebel’ from the Old Testament days, who was known for undermining the authority of her husband King Ahab, by controlling and manipulating him and taking over his leadership. (See 1. Kings 21)

The reason the Jezebel Spirit only pertains to women is because men have been given natural authority from God, it’s not something they would need to fight to get, they already have it as the Bible says, “But there is one thing I want you to know: The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” 1. Corinthians 11:3 NLT

Women, on the other hand, have not been given that same authority, and they would need tools to try to take that position of leadership that the man has. This is where the Jezebel Spirit comes in. A demon will come to a woman presenting different tools she can use to gain power over the man. 

These tools are, among many others: manipulation, control, domination and seduction. For a wounded or scorned woman, these tools come as a temptation she cannot resist, and she grabs them, and starts using them. This is the moment she opens the door to become possessed by the demonic spirit that promises to provide her with everything she needs to accomplish her goal. She may or may not even be aware of what a devastating spirit she has just welcomed into her life.

When a man seems to be using some of the same tools as the Jezebel woman does, it is not because he has the Jezebel Spirit, but rather a power-hungry spirit that comes from being an extremely wounded individual, who has most likely been abused in one way or another and need to control and manipulate his circumstances out of fear of being hurt again.

Secondly, in order to be a woman operating in the Jezebel Spirit in the realm of the church, you need to be able to teach people to commit sexual sin and make them idolize and worship you and lead them away from a relationship with Jesus Christ. To do that, they must follow your false teachings (deeper truths,’ as they are called—depths of Satan, actually). (See Revelation 2:20+24)

Thirdly, to have the Jezebel Spirit, you must be a narcissist, someone who is not able or willing to admit any wrongdoing. You think you are never wrong and therefore you will never repent or take any ownership! As Jesus said it: “I gave her time to repent, but SHE DOES NOT WANT to turn away from her immorality.” Revelation 2:21 NLT

YOU NEED TO KNOW THE WORD FROM THE BIBLE

Because, “Many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people!” Matthew 24:11 NLT

They will preach a different Jesus, a different kind of Spirit and a different kind of gospel! (See 2. Corinthians 11:4)

They twist the Scriptures to mean something quite different! (See 2. Peter 3:16)

“In their greed, they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money!” 2. Peter 2:3 NLT

They will perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones! (See Matthew 24:24)

Like Satan, these false prophets disguise themselves as angel of lights, like servants of righteousness! (See 2. Corinthians 11:14-15)

They trick people with lies so clever they sound like the truth! (See Ephesians 4:14)

Jesus made this very clear when He said: “See, I have warned you about this ahead of time!” Matthew 25:25 NLT

“Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.” Matthew 7:15 NLT

Therefore, you must search the Scriptures to see if what these people are teaching is indeed the truth! (See Acts 17:11)

DO I HAVE TO CELEBRATE THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES? NO THANKS!

We are in the Jewish holiday week of Sukkot, also known as the feast of Booths or Tabernacles. It is an agricultural festival that originally was considered a thanksgiving for the fruit harvest. Sukkot are hut-like structures that the Jews lived in during the 40 years of travel through the wilderness after the exodus from Egypt.

The Jews were instructed by God through Moses the following: “Begin celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles on the fifteenth day of the appointed month—five days after the Day of Atonement. This festival to the Lord will last for seven days.” Leviticus 23:34 NLT

“This festival will be a happy time of celebrating with your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites, foreigners, orphans, and widows from your towns.” Deuteronomy 16:14 NLT

“For seven days you must present special gifts to the Lord. The eighth day is another holy day on which you present your special gifts to the Lord. This will be a solemn occasion, and no ordinary work may be done that day.” Leviticus 23:36 NLT

During this time, many Jews construct what is called a sukkah, a small hastily built hut in which meals are required to be eaten throughout the eight days’ duration of the festival. A sukkah must have at least three walls. Only one can be an existing wall, like the side of a house. The walls may be constructed of any material, generally canvas, wood or metal. Today, it is possible to buy ready-to-assemble sukkah kits.

There are several other rituals and regulations that the Jews need to comply with to celebrate this festival.

But as for me as a born-again Christian, Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior ended the system of the law with its commandments and regulations when He died on the cross and rose from the death! (See Ephesians 2:14-15) Therefore, I do NOT have to celebrate any Old Testament festival that was meant for the Jews for me to be blessed! NO! I will not build a hut! This is another deception that is being taught in the churches today, that you are supposed to keep the Jewish festivals and traditions to receive God’s blessings! That’s a lie! The Bible clearly warns;

“Don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ Himself is that reality!” Colossians 2:16-17 NLT
