God called women to be known for the beauty that
comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is
so precious to Him! (See 1. Peter 3:4)
God did NOT call women to be elders or pastors, having
authority over men! Why? Because the Bible clearly says that a church leader MUST
be a man! (See 1. Timothy 3:2)
For this reason, the apostle Paul taught that
women
should learn quietly and submissively and that they should not teach men or
have authority over them, but instead listen to them quietly. (See 1. Timothy
2:11-12)
That is why the older godly women were instructed to train
the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and
be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their
husbands. And in doing so, these younger women would not bring shame on the
word of God! (See Titus 2:4-5)
It further confirms this in 1. Peter 3:1-6 and Ephesians 5:24,
when it says that women who are married must accept the authority of their
husbands and submit to them in everything, even if some refuse to obey the Good
News, their godly lives will speak to them without any words. Their husbands
will be won over by observing their pure and reverent lives. Women should put
their trust in God and do what is right without fear of what their husbands
might do!
Women are not called to associate with or be married to
anyone who - even if he claims to be a believer - indulges in sexual sin, is
greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people.
She should not even eat with such a person! (See 1. Corinthians 5:11)
Women should not draw attention to themselves by being
concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry or
clothing. They should be modest in their appearance and wear decent and
appropriate clothing. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make
themselves attractive by the good things they do! (See 1. Peter 3:3, 1. Timothy
2: 9-10)
