The Rapture | Institute of Love

The “rapture”; the event where the true believers of Jesus Christ and children (See Matthew 19:14), including those who already passed away, will be taken into heaven to be with their Lord for eternity! To be more specific, the Bible says that the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. It will happen in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, the Christians who have died will be raised with transformed bodies. And then we who are living will be transformed so that we will never die. For our perishable earthly bodies must be transformed into heavenly bodies that will never die. (See 1. Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1. Corinthians 15:52-53) This awesome event will happen unexpectedly, like a thief in the night, when people are saying, “everything is peaceful and secure” and “what happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” But then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape! (See 1.Thessalonians 5:1-3 and 2. Peter 3:4) Jesus is urging us to be prepared, because we don’t know what day our Lord is coming. (See Matthew 24:40-42)
