Meddling And Prying | Institute of Love

Some pastors unjustly complain that they are being badmouthed and persecuted by their church members and outsiders. But in reality, they are suffering the consequences for meddling in other people's business, talking about things they shouldn't and gossiping about it. Instead of caring for the flock (See 1. Peter 5:2-3), these pastors are keeping themselves busy with wanting to know all sorts of private and intimate details of their church members. They shamelessly want to know how much money their members make and want to have a say in how much they should give, how their sex life is, what kind of clothing to wear, who their members should hang out with, what purchase to make, who they should marry, wanting to advice them how to have the best sex, and so on and so on. These pastors “are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires.” 2. Timothy 3:6 NLT  It is for this very reason that the Bible says; If you suffer, however, it must not be for prying into other people’s affairs! (See 1. Peter 5:15)
