Testing The Spirit | Institute of Love

So many Christians happily put up with whatever anyone tells them, even if they preach a different Jesus, or a different kind of Spirit, or a different kind of gospel. (2. Corinthians 11:4) They are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Jesus Christ. (See Galatians 1:7) We are being taught by the Scriptures to test everything that is being said and not to believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. We must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. We must see if they acknowledge the whole truth about Jesus Christ as it is written in the Word of God, the Bible! For there are many false prophets in the world. (See 1. Thessalonians 5:19 and 1. John 4:1-3) We should be like the people of Berea, who searched the Scriptures day after day to see if what the apostle Paul and Silas were teaching was indeed the truth! (See Acts 17:11) Therefore, don’t let anyone capture you or fool you with empty philosophies and high-sounding (religious) nonsense that comes from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Jesus Christ alone! (See Colossians 2:8)
